The leading public health expert and former deputy chief medical officer has been appointed to the Telstra Health Board.
Medical leader Professor Michael Kidd AO has been appointed to the Telstra Health Board.
Professor Kidd was most recently Deputy Chief Medical Officer and Principal Medical Advisor for the Australian Government, in addition to his role as the Foundation Professor of Primary Care Reform at the Australian National University.
Professor Kidd brings over 30 years’ experience as a leader in medical education, as a clinician, digital health researcher and educator to the Telstra Health Board. He has been a trusted advisor to the World Health Organization and to governments in Australia and internationally on topics including digital health implementations to improve health systems, clinical governance and advising governments on whole of population health responses.

This appointment marks Professor Kidd’s second term on the Telstra Health Board following his resignation in 2020 to take on his role as the Commonwealth’s Deputy Chief Medical Officer.
