Startup enlists InterSystems to tackle interoperability

didgUgo has signed a deal with InterSystems to turbocharge the growth of its QR code-based solution.

Global data company InterSystems has signed a partnership deal with software-as-a-service solution startup didgUgo to integrate AI and interoperability functionality into the startup’s QR code-based care visit verification solution.

DidgUgo is a software solution for healthcare, disability services and aged care that allows subcontractors to use a QR code to check in and out of a job, notifying providers through an app and APIs while storing minimal private patients or client data.

By using the InterSystems IRIS for Health data platform didgUgo hopes to turbocharge its growth and help integrate data with care providers.

Chief technology officer and managing director at didgUgo Luke Benson said the partnership would allow providers to receive real-time information on subcontractor jobs.

“Our vision is to integrate didgUgo into the IRIS ecosystem so that solutions like TrakCare can plug in didgUgo check-in/check-out services to significantly improve visibility of service delivery, in real time,” he said.

“For many home services, Australian care providers don’t have any visibility into jobs until they receive the invoice, weeks later.

“We can fill that gap by providing real-time visit verification data.

“With our solutions partner agreement with InterSystems, didgUgo is primed to be interoperable and exchange data with provider systems in real time.

“By integrating a rostering or work order system, you could follow up with subcontractors and say, ‘Did you forget to check in?’.”

Mr Benson said the integration with IRIS was efficient and the local InterSystems team helped optimise their integration.

Australia and New Zealand manager for InterSystems Darren Jones said the company was happy to help.

“InterSystems works with care industry software start-ups to meet one of their most pressing challenges – the need for interoperability to integrate with providers’ information systems and deliver value quickly,” he said.

The integration will enable interoperability with systems used by care providers, embed care standards like HL7 FHIR and facilitate the use of AI for protection against fraud.

The move proceeds a care visit fraud prevention and electronic visit verification compliance application by the pair.

The solutions partner agreement will also allow didgUgo to offer its platform in the US.
