The department has renewed its contract with the global IT provider to assist with the implementation of its digital health strategy.

WA Health has renewed its multimillion-dollar deal with global technology company Atos to manage its cloud and infrastructure services for another five years.

The department invested $242 million dollars to secure the new deal, after first signing with Atos in 2019 to replace a previous contract held by Fujitsu, the sixth-largest provider of IT services worldwide.

According to Jonathan Smith, CIO for WA Health’s Health Support Services unit, the department was looking forward to continue its work with Atos, having been satisfied with the work undertaken by the company over the last five years to transition WA Health’s systems off Fujitsu’s infrastructure.

“Together [with Atos], we have already successfully delivered the largest application re-platforming program undertaken by WA Health, which was completed on time and met our requirements in terms of security and compliance,” Mr Smith said.

“We are looking forward to continuing our work with Atos to help implement our WA Health digital strategy.”
